In a recent move to ensure compliance with its Affiliation Bye-Laws, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted surprise inspections in 27 affiliated schools across Rajasthan and the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. These inspections, which uncovered significant irregularities, aimed to assess whether the schools were adhering to the board's prescribed norms.
The majority of the inspected institutions were found to have breached CBSE's regulations in critical areas. One of the primary violations discovered involved the creation of "dummy" enrolments, where schools had enrolled students in excess of their actual attendance records. This not only violated enrolment policies but also compromised the integrity of student data.
In addition to the enrolment discrepancies, several schools were found to be neglecting the infrastructural standards mandated by CBSE. These non-compliance issues ranged from inadequate facilities to unsafe building conditions, putting the quality of education and student welfare at risk.
In response to these findings, CBSE has issued show-cause notices to the defaulting schools, demanding explanations for their actions. The board is also considering legal action against those found guilty of violating the rules, underscoring its commitment to maintaining high educational standards.
CBSE has emphasized its zero-tolerance policy toward non-compliance and stated that it will continue to take stringent measures to ensure that all affiliated schools meet the required standards for student enrolment, infrastructure, and overall operation.
The board's actions reinforce its determination to uphold the integrity of the education system and ensure that all students are provided with a safe and standard-compliant learning environment.
